"In this new
body of work I have re-examined the challenges of deconstructing imagery
and making sense of it. By focusing on the patterns within the papers I
choose to apply and the line that is formed around each piece, I become
emotionally attached to the imagery that is formed. The new, abstracted
image excites me because a different meaning to the subject has emerged.
Each piece of paper that is applied solicits a new response from those
pieces already on the canvas and the work changes constantly. This
process is both challenging and just plain fun. I think I have come full
circle to regain a renewed sense of the importance of the elemental
qualities of the work rather than the portrayal of the image itself."
