Mark Bryan explores the tension between the humorous and the disturbing issues within everyday life. Bryan continues to create narrative work which comments on themes of humanity, from religion and politics to the meaning of life. Bryan enjoys painting a beautiful, natural landscape, yet fills the picture plane with depictions of absurd human activities. Lush, saturated hues invite the viewer to participate in Bryan's narrative adventures.

Working with a new cast of characters, timbering clowns and metal men enter Bryan's storytelling scenes. Always performing, always on stage, this assemble of actors continues whether the audience is present or not. Bryan states: "I often feel like I'm taking notes at a dark comedy but unfortunately the play is never over and I can't go home."
