Sacramento native, Paula Wenzl has
created a remarkable portfolio of pictures that impressionistically
conveys the structures, signs, and cultural artifacts of the
Sacramento area. Ms. Wenzl’s images are rich with color and full of
enthusiasm. Her technique produces unique and alluring images that
blur the lines between photography and painting. She begins with
Polaroid photographs and physically manipulates the emulsion; then she
enlarges the photographs onto watercolor paper. Each enlargement is
embellished with dyes, pastels, pencils, paints, or other handwork,
creating a one-of-a-kind print. She has won several awards and has
been published in books and magazines. Her works are part of numerous
public and private collections and have been exhibited internationally
including in Chicago, Katmandu, San Francisco, and Seattle.
All of Wenzl’s
Hand-Embellished Monoprints are available framed or unframed in
three different sizes: 11” x 11”, 16” x 16”, and 23” x 23”. Contact
